No hypocrisy

When most non church attenders are asked why they don’t attend church, most reply with the same answer. Even christians who don’t go to church use this same reason for why they don’t attend church. So what is it that keeps people away. Why don’t people go to church or why are they turned away from christianity.

Hypocrisy

They’re all hypocrites.” This is the reason why most people don’t attend church, or don’t attend specific ones. No one wants to go to a place where they are being judged for the same things that the judgers are doing.

Just think if a burglar went to court and was convicted guilty by a judge who stole that burglar’s wallet. He would feel cheated, wronged, and angry.

It’s the same with the church. No one wants to be told to not sin, when the one telling is a sinner. What we as the church need to do is become the Church. Subtle difference there. The church is somewhere where some act better than others. The church is where we know we are flawed, but that person is more flawed, so they should be told. The church is where we all have to act perfect.

That is not the Church. The Church is a place where everyone is welcomed, and no one is judged. A place where we know we are flawed just like that person, so we should love them just as God loves us. A place where we don’t have to pretend to be perfect, because we aren’t.

The Church is what we need to show the world, show that we can love others just as God loves us, because none of us are perfect. No more judging, no more perfection, no more guilt. Just love.
